It’s amazing going through my Google Photos and Lightroom Gallery and seeing where this 1990 Miata came from.

My best friend and co-driver and I purchased the Crimson Miata from a 50 year old woman who drove the Miata as a daily for the past 28ish years. Finally, the battery gave out on her and she wanted a more reliable vehicle. We picked the Miata up with around 110,000 miles for about $3,000, here in California. The car was unmolested, had bald tires and had a tiny oil leak on the CAS.

At first, we weren’t sure what we were going to do with the little guy. As you can see, we had tons of faster cars and bike’s (03 WRX and 15 Yamaha FZ-09), but the Miata just had something special about it. We originally started the build by attempting to throw a cheap eBay handbrake in the car, but quickly scrapped the idea, thank goodness.

Within weeks of owning the Miata, we let out friend drive the poor thing around a round-a-bout and he wound up crashing into a curb destroying the passenger side suspension.
We threw it back together and slammed it on some Racelands before the build began!
